Several years ago, the Knights in our parish got involved with a program called Boys to Men. (Bill Carroll from our KofC Council has a particular passion for this ministry.) The program is intended to partner teenage boys with an adult to be mentors for them as they navigate troubled situations.
Guided groups meet every week and give these young men a chance to open up, surrounded by compassionate peers and adults.
This weekend representatives from the group that meets here at St. Michael will be speaking at all the Masses to raise our awareness of the program. The young men from the program have been around St. Michael many times. As you listen, perhaps you know some young men who could benefit. If we are honest, we know that those years can be so difficult for young men
and young women (perhaps this indicates
another need).
I am glad that members of our parish have gotten involved and have supported this group. If it can raise our awareness and make a difference, that is a good thing and right in line with the Gospel. Our Savior, Jesus, is fully aware of the pressures and struggles our youth face – he
lived it with us! Our parish continues to grow in its commitment to our youth. We recognizing that, formed in the love of Christ, they are the future and hope of our Church and our world.
