After today we will never be the same As what we have seen has overcome What we all thought we knew was true Surely something new has now begun
We had listened but had not heard We had looked but had not seen Until all that we have witnessed today Has astounded and changed our being
We have followed, knowing not to where Straining to understand his every word Yet till this moment of holy joy Hadn't yet grasped what had occurred
Till today we had looked, but not truly seen Listened but truth had not opened our ears But this miracle has shaken our very being This revelation fills our eyes with tears
God's light, his voice, the prophets here Our eyes now this holy vision behold All this filling us with holy fear Witnessing the fulfillment of all foretold
This Jesus we now know is the Holy One His father's voice has now revealed His countenance so blinds our view And so very humbled we all now kneel
It is so good that we are here As we long to pitch our earthly tents To forever remain in this holy place Yet that is not at all what's meant
Of this great miracle we cannot yet tell As no man yet would this so believe What we have so seen and so heard Beyond what we could ever conceive
Dear Jesus Through our lives, not voices, we must now tell What we have seen and heard here today For as you are transfigured so too are we We'll never again be the same Lead us back to the world now changed To proclaim your glory in life and in deed For our eyes have seen your glory And salvation in your name revealed
