It was really great to be with
everybody at the Masses last weekend. I will be here with you again this weekend and present at least one tour of the new building. Then I will be going on vacation.
This year I am doing what I did back in 2011—I am driving across the country. I will go out to my home in Appalachia for a few days, and then,
head west, young man! (OK, so it is more like,
head west, older man!). I expect to go through St. Louis, out to Denver, then Las Vegas, and come back east to Atlanta. I hope to do some “side trips,” as well, to visit friends and family and to see things like the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon—and maybe the largest ball of twine!
I especially will enjoy visiting out-of-the way places and finding out what is special about them. I learned last time that just about every place has something special about it. Our country is truly fascinating to see and visit!
As I did last time, I will be posting my daily diary on my Facebook page, together with photos and short videos. If you want to follow, just check my Facebook page. I will friend any registered member who asks.
Meanwhile, I will miss you. But I will pray for you every day and hope to come back refreshed. And maybe I will even catch the solar eclipse!
