Dear St. Michael Parish,
The Haiti Twinning Ministry announces a major milestone since our relationship began with St. Jean Baptiste Parish in 2003.
Father Elizier Dorescat, has been re-assigned by Bishop Jean, to a parish in the town of Los Palis, Haiti.
Los Palis is approximately 30 miles east of Hinche, Haiti. Hinche is the largest city on the central plateau of Haiti and the center of Diocesan administration.
This is normal in the Catholic tradition of moving priests from one parish to another after a period of time. We have been fortunate to have Father Elizier since the inception of our twinning relationship. He has served our God with all his Heart, his people with all his being, and has been our guiding light and the foundation of our relationship with our Brothers and Sisters in Haiti.
Father Elizier has enriched us with countless blessings and taught us numerous lessons grounded in the Love of Christ, which he as graciously shared with us over this 15 year journey. Much like John the Baptiste, the namesake of our Twin Parish, Father Elizier will continue to walk in the Light of Christ by serving God from a different location.
With open arms, we welcome Father Norvella Garcon. Father Garcon will be coming to us from the same Diocese and hopefully we will be introducing him to all of you soon as we are excited to get to know more about him.
We wish Father Elizier all the Blessings that God has in store for him and ask God to watch over him as he continues to serve our Lord with all his Heart. We love you, we love you, we love you.
