As you read this, I am in Haiti with four other pilgrims. I will be back with you next weekend! I hope that I will have been successful in getting things on my Facebook Page. If it is not on my Facebook Page, check out the parish Facebook Page where I will have a backup of my messages.
As I write this note, we are beginning to really start using our Lake House. I spoke briefly with the Bishop Knestout on Friday evening when he was here with the college students as part of the Diocesan Youth Convention (DYC). He got a chance to see our main building and our sanctuary. He was really taken with our Stations of the Cross. I had the opportunity to invite him to come bless our Lake House and he was eager to do so—after the Confirmation season!
While we had over 700 college students in the main building Friday evening, the women’s Welcome Weekend was being set up and would use the Lake House through the whole weekend. Then on Monday evening, JAM (Jobs Assistance Ministry) filled the Lake House celebrating 1,000 successful job seekers, while EDGE used our main building. It is WONDERFUL seeing the vibrant life of our community.
May we always remember that this activity is not just business for its own sake, but it is to the glory of God. And may we allow that glory to open our hearts and souls to the gift of Jesus who is the Way for us all!
