In these deserted places Ofttimes we’ve sought refuge from the din For not a moment in time has transpired That we have not been with him
Yet we set sail now to distant shores To find quiet and our strength, rebuild What has transpired has us all worn and tired As we sail seeking spirit and body to refill
Through the distant mist it now comes into view Here would be a place of quiet we were sure Yet alone were not as all have now followed With a longing for his word, seeking cure
For peace and healing they here also seek With persistent longing for uplifting word There will be no rest for any of us in this place For we know his mercy and healing is assured
As we watch they press forward and clamor To get closer to him they fill the shore All came here in faith and longing for peace And our Lord holds us in awe as never before
His great love attracts all those who come They persist and they will not be denied Yet he gently smiles here and opens his arms For all these he even sets time itself aside
Dear Jesus, I long to hear your healing words I strive to move closer to you and never roam That here I might be find strength and healing For only in your holy presence am I truly home
