The fear surrounding the spread of the coronavirus can work to our good, if we let it. The same precautions we are urged to take for COVID-19 should actually be applied to
ANY flu or cold! And right now, these are the principle threats. So, I remind us once more:
If you are sick, see a doctor and then STAY HOME.
IT IS NOT A SIN TO MISS MASS IF YOU ARE SICK!
Do not receive from the cup if you have any fears; it’s OK. You receive the fullness of Christ with either element of the Eucharist.
While no one will be refused, receiving on the tongue is actually the least sanitary way.
Holding hands during the Our Father is a tradition here at St. Mikes, and I love it! BUT, do not be annoyed if someone does not want to hold your hand during the prayer.
Ditto for the sign of peace. Share God’s love and peace WITH A SMILE.
If you have a scratchy throat or feel funny, see all the comments above!
At this time, the diocese has not given any specific instructions or taken any other steps. But we all have been reminded to be careful
and loving. We come together as a parish to share God’s love, not germs. Take care of yourself and respect and love each other!
