This weekend, I am in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Life Teen/EDGE Conference. With my Charismatic background, I always find the music and worship to be really Spirit-filled. Also, the speakers I have heard at these conferences have been superb. All in all, it is a great experience that keeps me
in touch with the
younger crowd.
In another two weeks (the weekend of June 22/23), I will be traveling to Appalachia to help them, since they have no priest for two weeks. We can at least help with one set of weekend liturgies. Our Appalachian Twinning Ministry (ATM) would like to encourage parishioners to take advantage of this opportunity and join me and Deacon Andy Cirmo up in the mountains. And, believe it or not, going to Mass at the various churches is not in the least boring, since each of the communities has its own unique character. Oh yes, and the scenery is pretty good, too!
Members of ATM will be leading the trip, and the group will stay at the St. Michael House in Tazewell. Think about it, and let the office know if you are interested. I don’t think you will be disappointed!
