Join Our Liturgy Ministry!
The word liturgy originally meant a public work or service in the name of/on behalf of the people.
In our tradition, liturgy refers to the People of God participating in work of God, namely the celebration of the Pascal Mystery —Christ's Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension.
In the liturgy, the church celebrates the Paschal Mystery by which Christ accomplished the work of our salvation. We do this through many forms of prayer, with penance, petition, thanksgiving, intercession, and doxological praise among them.
We listen to readings. We respond with psalms and other spiritual songs and hymns.
We worship, we give thanks, and we celebrate the Eucharist in which Christ comes into our hands, into our very beings.
The liturgy calls us to perform many roles: priest, deacon, hospitality ministers, cross-bearers, lectors, choir, musicians, cantors, ministers at the table, and Eucharistic ministers. Everyone has a role during liturgy: all those assembled are considered the primary voice of the liturgy.

Liturgical Ministries
Ministry of Eucharist
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are trained to share the Body and the Precious Blood of Christ with the worshipping assembly on Saturdays/Sundays, weekdays, holy days, at sacramental celebrations (First Communion, Confirmation), and funerals. Learn MoreMinistry of the Word (Lectors)
An essential part of the Catholic Liturgy is the proclamation of the Word. Lectors read the Old and the New Testaments. Scheduling is by Mass preference and may include weekdays, holy days, and special liturgies.

The Music Ministry offers a wide variety of musical experiences for parishioners of all ages. Young or old, whether the interest is in the Children's Archangel Choir or providing instrumental accompaniment (flute, trumpet, horn, guitar, etc.), ministers will experience many wonderful moments of prayerful music-making, as well as lively fellowship.

At the 9:15 AM Sunday Mass, after the Opening Prayers, all school-aged children are invited forward and dismissed to participate in their own Liturgy of the Word. Adults are needed to serve as leaders and assistant leaders. Youth (Grades 6-12) are welcome to volunteer, as well. Learn MoreHospitality Ministry
Ministers of Hospitality serve as greeters and ushers. Ministers greet worshippers prior to Sunday and Holy Day services, distribute Orders of Worship, assist parishioners and visitors with seating, collect the financial gifts of the assembly during the Offertory, and guide communicants to the altar to receive the Eucharist.

Altar Servers is the perfect opportunity for youth (Grades 5 and Older), both male and female, to serve at liturgy.

The Arts & Environment Ministry encompasses the unseen ministries that support liturgy. These include the role of the sacristan, those who care for the church linens, those who care for the plants, and the environment support of the liturgy (decorating for specific scriptures, holy days). We are currently in need of someone to lead this essential ministry.
