By the time you read this, I am aware that two weeks have passed since our Parish Celebration of our Patronal Feast, blessing of First Responders, and Parish Picnic. However, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who made the events of the weekend a success.
Certainly, the Mass Saturday evening followed by the picnic was especially great as a way to honor and thank those who share St. Michael as Patron—police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and those in the Armed Services. They were deeply touched by the special blessing over them and the STANDING OVATION from the congregation! Then the picnic! They attended, ate, and took a lot of leftovers away with them. It was great to honor them this way. I want to thank the Knights and so many people who helped make the whole celebration a success. And I want to thank everyone who attended. This is the way our community grows and strengthens!
On Sunday, Masses continued the celebration. First responders and members of the military were prayed for at every Mass. It was a great weekend to be a Michaelonian and to grow in appreciation of God’s love for his people shown through the Angels and especially Michael!
P.S.
As many of you know, I am a stamp collector. I was really glad to see first responders honored in a recent stamp issue!
