Last weekend, we had some great experiences in our youth ministry. Sunday evening, our EDGE program kicked off with a lively evening. The middle school youth got to know each other and things about the year to come. While we were sad to see Laura Stapleton move on, we are really happy to have Peyton Thomasson join us as Associate Youth Advocate on October 15. She comes to us via Auburn and Alabama and brings a truly exciting spirit!
The high school students gathered Sunday in the late afternoon at Camp Hanover for Mass and lots of fun getting to know each other. I had the honor of celebrating the Mass with them for the third year in a row. Their energy and enthusiasm are contagious!
As a parish, we have committed considerable resources to the youth, since this is where so many other denominations have outshone us. We want
our youth to be offered programs to which they feel they can welcome their friends. I believe we have made great strides in this area. Thank you for the support you have shown!
Please keep up that support and enrich your own faith by TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR OFFERINGS FOR THE
WHOLE PARISH. Check out the FORMED program through the link on our parish website, saint-mikes.org. Let us grow together as disciples of Jesus!
