The Lake House has proven to be a great blessing to the St. Michael community. Teens, the Jobs Assistance Ministry, Senior Connections, CARITAS, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are all examples of groups who have enjoyed the fellowship opportunities afforded by this welcoming space.
On behalf of Fr. Dan, I want to thank all of you who made pledges to the Living our Mission (LOM) Campaign, which made the Lake House possible. If you will recall, St. Michael parishioners pledged a little over $4 million dollars to LOM, and the parish share from this campaign was estimated at about $3.1 million dollars. As of June 30,
St. Michael has received $1,191,551 in proceeds from the LOM Campaign. The final construction cost of the Lake House was about $3.7 million dollars. If everyone continues to pay on the pledge they made to LOM, we should be able to nearly cover the entire construction cost of the Lake House!
This summer, St. Michael restructured all of its Building Debt (Phase II into one mortgage, taking advantage of continuing favorable rates). Our repayment of the mortgage debt depends on your continuing generous support through
Sunday offertory,
the continued use of the debt reduction envelope,
the frequent use of SCRIP, and
the stream of quarterly income we receive from the paid pledges to Living Our Mission.
There are two and a half more years remaining in the LOM pledge period. If you have any questions or concerns about your pledge to Living Our Mission, please feel free to contact me or the Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Richmond.
